The difference between stainless steel screw pump and conventional screw pump

Core differences: The material and hygiene level, corrosion resistance, surface smoothness, applicable industries and costs are different, but the core conveying principle is the same.
1、 Material and Corrosion Resistance
Stainless steel screw pump: The pump body/rotor is commonly made of 304/316L stainless steel, which is acid, alkali, salt, and organic solvents resistant, rust free, and pollution-free.
Conventional screw pumps: mostly made of cast iron/ordinary cast steel, prone to corrosion, only suitable for clean water, oil, and non corrosive media.
2、 Hygiene and surface treatment
Stainless steel version: mirror polished inner surface (Ra ≤ 0.8 μ m), no dead corners, easy to clean, supports CIP/SIP, complies with FDA/GMP, suitable for food, medicine, and daily chemical.
Regular model: rough surface, easy to accumulate dirt, difficult to clean, easy to breed bacteria, used for industrial wastewater, mud, and general chemical industry.
3、 Media adaptation
Stainless steel: corrosive, high viscosity, containing fine particles, sanitary grade media (liquid medicine, soy sauce, lotion, acid and alkali) can be sent.
Regular version: limited to non corrosive, low viscosity, large particles/sludge (sewage, mud, crude oil, ordinary slurry) only.
4、 Structure and Maintenance
Stainless steel version: quick detachable design, quick disassembly and cleaning; Seals are mostly sanitary grade mechanical seals/magnetic seals, with zero leakage.
Conventional model: bulky structure, complex disassembly and assembly; Seals are mostly filled seals/ordinary mechanical seals, which are prone to leakage and require frequent maintenance.

Stainless steel version: corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant, with a long service life; But the price is high and the processing accuracy requirements are high.
Conventional model: prone to corrosion and wear, short lifespan; Low price and high maintenance cost.
